Siva Kameshwari Temple Saran Navaratri Celebrations & Special Events

This Saran Navaratri being the first major event for Sri SivaKameswari Temple (SKT), we will be celebrating this Sacred Navaratri with special Yagyas, events and Poojas with most reverence and gratitude to Divine Mother as she choose to be with us to bless us from here on. This year Saran Navaratri is from Oct 1st to 10th 2016. Saran Navaratri (also known as Sarad Navaratri or Navaratri): is the most sacred nine days period of all times in the whole Vydic Calendar year. Saran Navaratri Celebrations: This is a very auspicious period not only associated due to its sacredness but also because of its unique & special as the powerful time & so much good energy emerging from various divine activities such as meditation (Chanting Lord’s name), Poojas, Homas & Yagyas increases in multitude when done in this time. Therefore it is advised that everyone should take advantage of such good time to maximum extent possible.

Sri SivaKameswari Temple (SKT) invites you all to participate in this great and sacred event and celebrate Navaratri Temple festivities with Divine Mother Sri Sivakameswari. All are welcome to participate in all temple events and festivities. Please come and make this event a grand success with your participation.

Special Highlighting feature for this year will be Laksha Kumkuma Archana that will be done by ladies, Daily Suvasini Pooja followed by Daily Kanya Pooja. Kumkuma Archana participants will be granted “Deeksha” prior to the start of the Navaratri. Please go to the temple website – http://sivakameswari.org

This Deeksha initiated participants get to participate in the daily Laksha Kumkuma Archana that will be done in the Temple during the whole Navaratri time in daily evening programs from October 1st to 9th and finally concludes on Dasara – 10th October – will be Deeksha Viaramana day( Concluding Deeksha) followed by Mahad Asirvachanam (Blessings).

All participants will be given a specially ordered souvenir of Sri Kanaka Durga idol from Sri Bejawada Kanaka Durga Temple to which the daily Poojas and Kumkuma archana will be offered. As a token of gratitude and gift from Sri SivaKameswari Temple (SKT) you get to take with you this souvenir as the Blessings of the Divine Mother. Picture is given below:-

Important note regarding Kumkuma Archana event participants:

Each and every participant will be given a Sri Kanaka Durga idol of their own with adequate Kumkuma for Archana, and also will be supplied with all the other needed Pooja items. You get to keep this souvenir after the Pooja conclusion on the 10th day as the Blessings of the Divine Mother and as a gift from Sri SivaKameswari Temple (SKT).

Below given are some important rules to adhere to for all the ladies participating in Saran Navaratri Deeksha. Please read them and contact us if you have any questions.

Important notes for Deeksha Dharana participants:

1. Please ensure you have received Deeksha from Sri Sivakameswari Temple prior to October 1st as much as possible. In case you wish to participate and cannot come on September 30th for some reason, please notify Temple authorities so that they can make necessary arrangements for you from Oct 1st before the Samoohika Pooja begins.
2. Please try to take a shower before you come to the temple for the Pooja every day for doing Kumkuma Archana.
3. Always try to retain the Deeksha Dharana Dhaaga (Sacred thread) as much as possible until October 10th 2016.
4. Please do not consume non-vegetarian food, alcohol or tobacco during Navaratri time especially when you are Deeksha.
5. Please avoid using leather waist belts, wallets, handbags especially while coming for Pooja to the Temple.
6. Please try to be calm, speak less as much as possible at this time when in ‘deeksha’.
7. Meditational powers enhance greatly and intensity of prayer multiply many times in this time. Therefore meditate as much as possible.

On the Dasara special day, October 10th from 3:30 to 5:30 PM – Sri SivaKameswari Temple (SKT) will be doing Sri Saraswati Pooja for all Vidyarthies (Students). This is a free event for all students.
