Mahanyasa Purvaka Ekadasha Laghu Rudrabhishekam

A Monthly Sacred Offering to Lord Shiva

Sunday 17th August 2025

Aruṇa Pārāyaṇa & Sūrya Namaskārams

Traditional Vedic prostrations to Lord Sūrya, offered with sacred Vedic mantras.
From the Taittirīya Āraṇyaka of the Krishna Yajur Veda, Aruṇa Pārāyaṇa is a powerful hymn in praise of Lord Sūrya (Āditya), glorifying Him as the source of all life and the remover of darkness, disease, and ignorance.

Benefits:
  • Grants vitality, robust health, and sharp intellect
  • Offers protection from unseen forces and removes obstacles
  • Improves physical strength and flexibility
  • Energizes the body and balances prāṇa (life force)
  • Removes lethargy and bestows courage, prosperity, and mental clarity
Mahānyāsa Pūrvaka Ekādaśa Laghu Rudrābhiṣekam

Mahānyāsa is the ritual purification that invokes divine energies into the body, mind, and soul, preparing for the supreme worship of Lord Śiva.
In Laghu Rudram, 11 Vedic priests (ṛtviks) each chant the Śrī Rudram 11 times, totaling 121 recitations. With each chanting, abhiṣekam (sacred bathing) is offered to the Śiva Liṅgam using 11 different sacred ingredients—such as water, milk, curd, ghee, honey, bilva leaves, and more.

Benefits:
  • Removes accumulated sins and purifies the mind
  • Brings peace, protection, and inner strength
  • Destroys negativity and heals diseases
  • Balances Navagraha (planetary) influences
  • Grants both material prosperity and spiritual upliftment

Om Namah Shivaya!
