Yajurveda Upaakarma / Avani Avittam

Join us at Sri Sivakameswari Devasthanam for the auspicious Yajurveda Upaakarma (Avani Avittam) on Friday, August 8th, 2025. This sacred Vedic ritual marks the renewal of Vedic study and offerings, a tradition passed down for generations.

The Upaakarma will be performed in two main batches with Homam, and a special session will be held for first-time participants.

To maintain the sanctity of the ritual, please follow these guidelines:

  • Bring your Panchapatra, Uddharani, and a plate.
  • Dress code: Dhoti/Veshti only. No modern attire, please.
  • Perform Sandhyavandanam at home before coming to the temple.
  • Please bring Guru Dakshina and Tamboolam for the priest as an offering of gratitude.
