Why is Varalakshmi Vratam Important?
Varalakshmi Vratam is a sacred festival observed to worship Goddess Lakshmi, the granter of boons (“Vara”). Observed on the Friday before the full moon in the month of Shravana, this vratam is performed especially by married women (Sumangalis) for the well-being of their family and to receive the blessings of Ashtalakshmi – the eight divine forms of Lakshmi.
All Puja Materials Provided by Temple
Devotees are kindly requested to bring:
- 1 Coconut
- Flowers and fruits
- Some change of coins
- Dakshina to priest and temple service charge
All other puja items and Maha Lakshmi Pratima will be provided by the temple.
Dress Code – Mandatory for All Participants
To uphold the sanctity of the puja, all participants are kindly requested to wear traditional Indian attire:
👩🦱 Women: Saree or any traditional Indian dress.
👨🦰 Men: Dhoti with Uttariyam or Kurta-Pajama.
🔹 Note: All long hair must be neatly tied and secured. Loose hair is not permitted.
