On the Second Day of Sharad Navaratri, Sree Gayatri Devi, the embodiment of all Vedas, is worshipped. With five faces of different colors and holding a conch, wheel, mace, and ankush, she is seated on a white lotus, radiating calmness and divine power. Worshipping her grants wisdom, prevents calamities, and brightens the mind, while reciting the Gayatri Mantra is said to equal the power of chanting all four Vedas.

On the Third Day of Dussehra, Goddess Durga is worshipped as Annapoorna Devi, the provider of nourishment and sustenance. Holding a bowl of rice, she symbolizes the source of life and creation. Meditating on Annapoorna Devi enhances intellect, speech, and affluence, and the bowl (Akshaya Patra) in her hand grants endless blessings. Devotees offer white flowers, Dadyojanam, and Katte Pongal to seek her grace and protection.

Sri Saraswathi Devi – Prasadam: Kadambam (Sambar Rice)
The star Mula has very special significance in Sharad Navaratri days. The Goddess Durga Devi bestows her Darshan as Saraswati, the mother of Knowledge, on this sacred day. She emerges in Moola Nakshatram which is why the Moola moon constellation has attained a special significance. The Puranas describe Saraswti Devi as the form of “Brahma Chaitanya.” She sits on a white lotus and holds the Veena, a baton, a clay pot with a spout, a string of prayer beads. She drives away the ignorance and darkness in her devotees with her Abhayam Hasta. She granted the power and glory of words as a great boon to writers like Vyasa, Valmiki, and Kalidasa.

Sri Mahishasuramardini Devi Mahishasura Mardini Devi, the most fierce of the nine forms of the Goddess, is worshipped on Asvaujasuddha Navami, known as Mahar Navami. She rides a lion and wields weapons, embodying the powers of all Goddesses. After defeating the demon Mahishasura, she becomes a symbol of invincibility and success. Worshipping her eliminates fear, brings strength, and grants powerful positions. Devotees must uphold truth and righteousness, using their powers for the greater good to receive her blessings. The Chandi Saptasathi ritual is performed to honor her.
